Today is the day. Not just any day. It is The Day. It is the day I purchase my beloved Dr. Martens. I woke up full of excitement, a long awaited feeling. My dad picked me up promptly at 8:30 AM. We drove for a half-hour to my destination. I picked up the shoes and walked away full of joy. I know material things don't supply happiness but it is not the shoes that made me excessively happy. It was the act of becoming myself. I feel that I am evolving into my own. These shoes are a symbol of the true me. This blog is helping me discover all of these thing, making this summer time of transformation.
Enough of self-discovery. I want to show off my shoes. Here are some pictures of the beauties.
So there you have it. I am very proud of my love-ys. Notice that I am wearing my Dan Potthst shirt from the infamous concert. The rest of my day was spent around cherishing my shoes. That Included taking two trips to Target and eating Panda Express. I feel that my blog is empty if I don't post a video of some sorts. Here are some songs that my shoes and I listened to today.
I saw them perform that song and it might have been the best one. Its a great cover.
I bought a Goldfinger single of This Lonely Place at a thrift store, and this was a bonus track. I cant get enough of it.
Before I forget, I would like to mention how fantastic the movie, Reality Bites is. I watched it for the 4th time today, and fell in love with it again. I don't really like Ben Stiller in It but Winona Rider and Ethan Hawke are great. My advice to you is: Watch it.
I'm off to go update my Ipod.
As Mark Wahlburg would say, "say hello to your mother for me."
Just A look-see into what goes on into my daily life, and thoughts. Its revolutionary.

Far Behind
Why do The Hippos come on at exactly the right time? My current mood translations is their song, Far Behind. Hence the blog title. I forgot to blog yesterday because it was quite eventful. My grandma, sister and I decided to take a spontaneous thrift store trip. We went downtown and first went to the SPCA thrift shop. It was gigantic and had a huge selection of jewelry and retro clothes. My sister and I bought a few things. Here's some pictures of our treasures
My sister got that necklace, and its super adorable.
She also bought that purse. Its precious. She obviously has a much sweeter style than mine.
So I really hate Madonna but I have been looking for an 80's crop top. I thought I would wear this and mock her for how ridiculous she looks, but I guess that was the style.
My sister hates that shirt but I like it for some reason. Its a little small, but that's fine. It screams 70's. Like I care. After the SPCA store we went to Bows and Arrows. It was a little over- priced but I found this crazy dress for $17 that I could not resist. It fits perfectly and is very light and comfortable.
I told you it was crazy. It has parrots all over it.
Today I went to the state fair. I ate greasy food, rode rinky-dink rides and wasted money on impossible games. My dad's fiance's nephew, Jacob, was in town so he tagged along with us. He is four years old and really cute. Here are some pictures of he and I.
We were on the Ferris wheel at the time.
I'm in love with Mustard Plug radio on Last.fm.I love Mustard Plug as it is. My current favorite is Yesterday my Mustard Plug. Enjoy.
I'm off to go read. I was going to see the long awaited premiere of Diner For Schmucks, but I cant. Insert sad face here.

20 Excuses
Hmmmm, blog. I am lacking inspiration, so I'm hoping ZOX will provide some. I did not do a thing today so I don't have much to report. Well my hair is still fantastic and I am falling in love with it even more every time I see it. I noticed that in my last post i did not mention the products I used. I bleached my hair with Manic Panic's FLASH LIGHTNING 30 bleach. For the pink I used Manic Panic's Cotton Candy Pink Advanced Formula. I am now looking to re-do my dye. I think I will continue with the cotton candy color, but next time I will add more bleach to have pink all the way down my hair, and not just on the roots. I want some more streaks on the back and underneath also. I'm satisfied with what I have for now though. I took a picture of my hair today because I like how it looked.
So yesterday my sister, grandma and I went to the 99 cents store and had fun discovering all that one needs for 99 cents. We bought four pairs of sunglases. Guess how much it cost? We did some crazy stuff so here is some pictures to describe our adventure.
Later in the day we went to my favorite store, Trader Joe's and came across this beauty.
That's right. Double Rainbow sorbet. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? for all that don't know what I'm talking about, watch this video.
ITS SO INTENSE. You are all now enlightend.
I'm going to go read but I would like to leave you all a song I have been enjoying today.
Voila.

I am back to review my week. I apologize for my speedy exit in my last blog post, but I had to go driving. I'm not going to babble any longer. So here we go.
Wednesday: I had a riveting day full of chores and reading my book Youth In Revolt. I also went to H&M and bought three pairs of rad sunglasses. One black, circular pair, One over-sized green tortoise shell pair and, one pair of orange aviators.
Thursday: More chores and TV and ska listening.
Friday: My cousins Cameron and Devon came over to spend the night. We went swimming at a friends house, and ate a whole box of oreo's. My sister and I had a blast throwing little Devon across the pool from our shoulders. Later, we went home and watched some stupid straight to DVD movie, Its a Boy-Girl Thing. I retreated to my room to finish my book. When the movie was over everyone came into my room, and surprisingly Cameron passed out on my floor. As many girl who have been to sleepovers know, the one who falls asleep first gets tormented. So we went with tradition and tortured Cameron. At first we made Devon put lipstick on Cammy. It escalated into green eyeshadow, then sunglasses, then a hat, then a toothbrush. We captured a few pictures. (I'm sorry Cammy)
I wont embarrass her anymore.
Saturday: My cousins left in the morning and I went to a birthday party in the afternoon. It was a fun party and I gave my friend the new Reel Big Fish CD. I bought a copy myself and I would like to say that it is phenomenal. It is a best of CD, but comes with a bonus skacoutic CD that I am in love with. There is a duet with Aaron Barrett and Leila Khan from Sonic Boom Six that blows my mind. They sing She Has A Girlfriend Now, which just happens to be one of my favorite RBF songs. I can listen to it enough.
I forgot to mention all of the great movies I watched this week. I watched the classic witch movie, The Craft. I loved the style in the movie and was infatuated with the grunge look. My dad has been trying to get me to watch it, but Ive been reluctant. I have to say, Dad you were right. I also watched Donnie Darko and found it very thought provoking and interesting. The ending is fantastic and very powerful. I don't want to give away the story but I would like to advise all who have not seen it to watch it. Now. Do it. Now.
Back to reality.
Sunday: I woke up to a lazy Sunday. (SNL reference)Mr. Pib and Red Vines equal crazy delicious! Then I swept outside and blogged. I was dragged away from my computer to go to crossroads and didn't buy anything. I came up with the daring idea of dying my hair. My dad went for it o we drove to Hot Topic to buy the dye. Then we had to go to Ulta to buy the bleach, but they don't sell any. We drove all the way to Sally Beauty Supply and purchased the bleach. All ready to go, We got in the car and it wouldn't start. Meanwhile, the alarm was sounding to make things worse. It just so happened to be really hot, too. We gave up on the car and decided to be picked up in the parking lot. It was about 4 o'clock at this point so my dreams of having pink hair were crushed. I wouldn't have enough time to dye it before I went to my moms. I didn't dye it and ate some tri-tip instead. I went to my moms and was very happy to be greeted by my dog, Tucker. It was so painful to be away from him. That was my day.
Monday: I slept in, and went to my grandmas in the morning. I assisted her in painting her dining room a sage green, which turned out fantastic. Its is very calming. My grandma and I dropped my sister off at a friends and picked up the sequel to my book. The sequel is titled Revolting Youth: The Further Journals of Nick Twisp. Ive read a good chunk of it already, and it is living up to the previous novel. After picking up the book, we tried out this new cupcake shop, and bought a root beer float cupcake. It was quite delicious. My mom came home shortly after us, so we rushed home to dye my hair with the dye I had purchased the day before. It was scary but well worth it. I had to bleach it first and that had to sit for about 20 minutes. I should have left it longer. Here's my hair after the bleaching excursion
It was tough because some of my hair is much lighter than the rest of it, o we had to base the time off the lightest strip. Then we out in the pink and here's of pictures of the process.
That's me waiting for the dye to soak in. That step took an hour.
That's the finished product. I call it my rainbow sherbet hair. Its pink at the roots then fades to an orange. Threes also a stripe underneath, but its not that noticeable.
That last picture had flash, so the colors are more vibrant.
I better go.

Islands
Ive missed you, blog. I obviously have commitment issues, if I can keep a blog for more than two weeks. I send my regrets to all of you followers who have been disappointed in my lack of writing. I don't have an excuse for not blogging this week because I have not been very busy. My days have consisted of chores, listening to music and watching TV. I have been on the computer so it is not like I don't have access to my blog. The only thing I can think of that would restrain me from blogging is my lack of inspiration. When you stay inside for a majority of your day, things tend to blur together, and you stop really thinking. The only time I have used my brain is when I was reading, and I finished my book. To make up for this empty week, I will review as in detail as I can.
Sunday: I went to see Inception with my mom, sister, grandma, dear friend/ sister Stacy, and her cousin. The movie was great. I loved how it kept my attention the whole time, but I think people are making it a bigger deal than it needs to be. The acting was well done, but you cant really go wrong with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page in my opinion. Later I met my dad and we retreated to my Nana's. I swam, visited with my family and ate food. It was nice spending time with everyone.
Monday: I did chores out the wazoo and watched some trashy reality TV. Nothing special.
Tuesday: I did more chores and my sister had a friend over.
Oh no! I have to go but I will continue my story later.
As Mark Wahlburg would say, "say hello to your mother for me."

My time is a piece of wax
My blogging has been at an all time low. I have only one excuse for my poor behavior. Youth In Revolt. I am reading the popular book, turned movie written by the wondrous C.D Payne. I love his writing style and the characters he created. Nick Twisp/ Francois Dillinger are my new heroes. I watched the movie on Tuesday and liked the story line, so I figured that I would read the book. I did not predict that I would be this enthralled. What intrigued me was how the author would write the dialogue of two characters who are the same person. If you are not familiar with the plot, A meek Nick Twisp is a member of a trashy, bay-area family and goes on a vacation. Meanwhile, he meets the love of his life, Sheeni Saunders. They are separated and he has to 'be bad' in order to see Sheeni again. So does what any love-sick teenager would do and turns 'bad.' Now bookstores all across America are going to have copies of the novel flying off the shelves, with my marvelous review.
Lately, my days have gone like this: Wake up at 9, check out facebook, listen to ska until 1, watch two episodes of Family Guy, then read until 10, watch one hour of trashy reality TV, then read for another hour. Oh, and i occasionally eat a nectarine somewhere in there. Sounds stimulating, doesn't it?!
Well it is.
I came across this one fantastic video while surfing skanking facebook page. It is a cover of the ever popular single- Mad World. The band is a British ska- punk band called King Tuts Revenge. Enjoy folks
There you go. I'm going to go educate myself of the life of Nick Twisp.

Pizza Day
I love The Aquabats. They are the only thing that is making my day some-what decent. Today was an all time low. I could not get to sleep, did an impossible puzzle, and my air conditioning broke. Oh! And I had a driving lesson that went horrible. I hate driving. I just want my independence. My instructor had to keep on the chicken brake almost the whole time. Every single pair of headphones in my house are broken. My best option are some that have one working ear bud. If I'm lucky, when I scrunch my neck both will work. Sorry, but I don't feel like blogging so I will satisfy you with some video's I love
My favorite Streetlight song from their new album
My mellow song.
One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands.
A classic.
I have nothing to do, but sit in the heat.

Stuck In My Head
I have had The Supervillians stuck in my head all day. Ive been going crazy, I even started dancing in the salad section of Trader Joe's. I'm sure I got some weird looks then. Oh well, I don't care. I have to say that today sucked. I'm not in a good mood and Fatter Than Albert isn't helping. I stayed inside all day, and when I left I got a headache, and people were bugging me.
There is a fad going on that I feel I need to discuss. Independent yogurt shops. There is cornucopia of Yogurt shops and it seems like they are on every corner. I am all for the small business owner, but get an original idea. You aren't going to stand out and get more business if you blend in wit all of the others. I especially have a problem with the self-serve yogurt shops. The are un-sanitary, the fruit looks old, yogurt dispensers spill everywhere, and people can put their poopy hands in the candy bins. I have counted up to 12 different shops in my area, and I'm sure there are more around. Okay, I got that out of my system.
My other problem with society are illiterate parents. I absolutely hate the odd spelling of names. Adding extra -e at the end of names to replace a -y drives me insane. Also add an extra -n or -r a the end is equally as bad. I understand the desire to be an original, but how about naming your child something different for zest. You're child is going to have to spell their name to people all of their life when you could have spelt it right. Another thing that bothers me is adding -lyn or -ana to a regular name. For example, the name dannilynn brakes many of my rules. They added the -lyn and an extra -n in the middle and end. So for all of you possible parents, do you want to be illiterate by adding unnecessary letters. You look plain stupid. You are not being different. Thanks for listening.

You Never Told Me
My recent blogging history shows that I cant keep promises. Signs point to liar. Sorry, folks I have had a busy few days and Its had to keep up. So I'm now going to say that I want to blog everyday but its not my main priority in life right now, living up my summer is. I will catch all of you up with what has been going on in my recent life. On Sunday, I woke up lazily, meandered down my hall and got some Starbucks. My dad and I did are normal Sunday visit to the used car lot, and this time I drove. It was nerve-racking, but I survived. Its hard for me to tell which one is the gas and which is the break, so I would say I need more practice. Later I went to my cousins house and visited them for my cousin Cameron's birthday. She is turning 12, and I love seeing her grow up. She is too funny and doesn't even know it. Now to the good part, STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO. The best night of my life, without a doubt. It began with being picked up by the group and getting free slurpees. Super delish. Then we began our trip to San Francisco and the ride went by really fast. WE talked ska and other stuff, and before we knew it we were in the city, pulling up to the club. The line to get into Slim's was long, but well worth the wait. We claimed our spot on the left of the stage in the front. I literally had no one in front of me and could sit on the stage. I bought a Dan Potthast Baseball-tee and threw it on instantly. My love, Dan P, came out to tape the set list and he saw me and said, "Hey! Cool shirt" Me, being lame and starstruck couldn't think of anything to say and said, "Yeah!" I just about peed my pants. It was a moment I will never forget. He played amazingly and he and I made eye contact, along with the drummer. After his performance I asked for a picture and he said, "after the show." He never came back, but I am okay with just getting a sentence from him. I will get a picture someday. I took a few pictures of him and his band, so enjoy. Dan P and the bricks drum set Dan P
That ones my favorite. After him was The Wonder Years and they were gross. I hated the lead singer, and couldn't ell one song form another.
The Supervillians were next and they were really good. The drummer was one of the lead vocals, which I dug. They had a few technical problems so they talked to the crowd, and got us into the show more. I got a few pictures of the guitarist.
I loved his dreads and banana tattoo. Although, I would never get them for myself.
So for the big finale, Streetlight Manifesto came on. We just happened to stand right blow where Tom was standing and I got a picture of his holy mic.
He was fantastic, but I wish he interacted with the crowd more. He still looked fantastic. The crowd wanted to come where were standing because that's where Tom was, so we had dweedle dee and dweedle dum ramming into us for a majority of the show. Luckily we had some guys in the group to push them out of the way. It was hard for me to get a picture of them because of the constant movement but I managed to get a few.
Tom
After the show I bought a Streetlight shirt and we headed off. Of coarse we got lost on the way to the free way but we made it. Half-way through we stopped for a pee break and I couldn't help myself and take this picture with Connor.
Well it was the night of a lifetime, as you can tell. I'm off to go bathe my dog or something

Blast!
I forgot to blog yesterday! What has the world come to! OK. I feel like Ive committed some kid of sin, or something. So I suppose my job for today is to make up for my lack of blogging yesterday, and post two today. Class, lets begin by recapping yesterdays festivities. I woke up to the sound of sizzling bacon and once i opened my eyes I found a basket of fruit and fresh home-made crepes. Once I finished my delicious breakfast, I took a nice 6 mile run around my small town and came home exhausted, but awake. Just kidding, I ate a balance bar and watched TV. I ate leftovers for lunch, and once I was done, went to Holly work and organized her new office supplies. The organizing made the day go by fast, so I was home in no time. Wait, the exciting part was that Friday Night Lights was on! Woo!My predictions are that Luke is going to get addicted to prescription pills, Vince is going to go into a life of crime to support his mother, but Jessie's dad is going to try and stop him. Becky is going to ignore Luke as always, and Tim is going to support his brother. I'm not sure if Julie is going to follow the habitat guy, or stay in town. So those are my predictions, we'll see how accurate they are.
Oh! I forgot to mention that I re-dyed my hair pink yesterday, and I love it. I'm still 'dying' (punny) to have permanent pink hair, but I have to pay for it myself, and its not cheap. So my activities for today include going hiking with my dad, having company over, and possibly getting my toes done. Sounds like an action pact day for me. Also, yesterday my sister and I watched Zombieland it was a rad movie. It was the second time I'd seen it, but the first for my sister.I didn't know how she'd handle it, but it went fine. I love all of the characters and the directing of the movie. I think how they pop the rules into the scenes is really creative.
I'm off to go do some manual labor or something.
As Mark Wahlburg would say, "Say hello to your mother for me."

1903
I almost forget to blog today! I have been so preoccupied with the sun. Today I became friends with joy. I loved today. I am in an enlightened mood right now. Im watching Finding Neverland, and am inspired by the grace of the characters. I guess this mood also comes from the viewing of Coco Before Chanel, last night.
Now to review my day. I got to see by best friend in the whole world today. I miss her so much, and it is a shame that we dont see each other more often. We went to the local waterpark together, along with our sisters, and had a wonderful time. I loved seeing the excitement in my friends faces when falling down the waterslide. I love the feeling you get when you drop down on teh slide, I love how weightless you can feel. It is so freeing.
Today I celebrated my youth.
While veging after the busy day, I watched the most adorable commercial. It was one for target, about how one little thing leads to another, and eventually changes your life. Thats how I think of teh world sometimes. Which can be a good and bad thing. Its horrible when you thing that one measly assinment lesd to your grade, which leads your gpa, which leads to your college application, which leads to your college accpatance, which leads to your job, which leads to your salary, which leads to your retairment, and so on. Its a horrible curse I have.
Last night I had a strange dream. In this dream, I was having a bithday party at a footbell field. They're were many guests but they were all a blur. Only one friend was clear. Everyone was having a good time, but I didnt notice my other guests, only the clear one. After we had all eaten, Everyone stareted running laps. I started skipping, in my normal fashion, and the clear one did too. The clear one fell. The clear one broke into little pieces and the whole time I was trying to save the clear one and no one would help me. Everyone at the party kept doing their buisness, while I was scrambling. In the end I could not save the clear one, and they died.
I dont know what triggered the dream, but I founf it profound enough to record.
On a less bizarre note, 3 days! You should know what Im counting down to.
I better go watch the movie. And.

Scallops
Bonjour! While I'm writing this, I'm watching top chef, and my mouth is watering at the delicious food. Someone made pancakes, and I really wanted some. Well today I came to a phenomenal conclusion, I hate waiting for people trying on clothes. Today my sister and I went to the mall looking for a new bathing suit for my sister and she took FOREVER at each store. And of coarse none of the stores had somewhere for me sit, so I ended up walking around stores I don't like. That sounded really narcissistic, but if a store wants to keep a customers, they should provide to what they need, and they want seats! By the time I got home I was exhausted, and all I did was shop. They're were many temptations in forever 21, but I kept on reminding myself that I need money for streetlight and Dan Potthast shirts. Speaking of the concert, only four more days until the best day of my life. Also today, I realized how much I love the bravo show Work of Art: Search of the Next Great Artist. I love miles. He's super adorable.
<3
Well I'm going to watch Coco before Chanel.

Sigh
Ahhh, what to blog about. I'm not really in a ranting mood, so I think today will be about my lame day. Well, I had some excitement. At 2am this morning we found a stray dog in the backyard. We took her inside and gave her some food and water, the normal stuff. She was so cute! She was a little beagle mix, and I gave her the name of millie. Long story short, while my sister and I were posting found dog signs and the owners contacted us and took her home. Hers a picture of the little buggie.
I'm showing my Humboldt pride in the last picture.
So now my countdown to streetlight is down to 5 days. I think I accidentally wrote 5 yesterday, oh well. I'm going to go eat something yummy.

Monday
So today I dont have much to say except that the countdown to streetlight begins! Six days people! Im am beyond stoked. I went to sky high with my good friend alex newton, and had a blast. The foam pit was daunting, but fun. I loved watching my mom re-live her cheerleading days. After jumping for an hour we went to get yogurt, and accidently left the dispenser on so it fell to the floor in a giant heep, oops. Alex and I hung out at my house, and then we went our seprate ways. I am now at my dads, and had a delicious tri-tip diner.
Because of my upcomming skankfest, aka streetlight concert, I thought I would brush up on my skanking. For all of thoes who dont know what it is I posted a video of an awesome video. Enjoy.
I love that guy. Im off to watch some movie my sister choose.

Hulk Hogan
Honestly, today has been a downer. Thats where Suburban Ledgends come in to lift my spirit. I barely left the house, which is a pet-peeve of mine. All I did was clean my room, do laundry, and have a 16 and pregnant marithon. A new obsession is the fashion blog titled The Fish Tank. Its this lovely brit, and her taste is spot on. She has started up my desire for dr martins again. (Birthday gift idea)One some-what exciting thing I did today was hang up a mirror in my room! whoo! I recently re-decorated my room with the lovely assistance of Autumn. (Thank You!) Heres a picture of the renovation
With all of my spare time I created a list of thing I would like to own someday. Hers the list fellas, 1) Dr. Martins in black patent leather 2)REAL headphones 3)A real Chanel purse 4)A massive collection of ska cd's 5)An awesome punk jacket created by your's truly 6)Sims 3: Ambitions 7)Knee socks in many varities 8)Loafers 9) Military inspired back-pack 10)Galaxy leggings 11) DSLR camara 12) My passat wagon with the adorable name of Otto (after the german leader)
Well, that was extensive. My baby has been feelin lethargic, so I hope he perks up later.
Lately my athem has been The Hippos song wasting my life. It describes things perfectly. Thank you Ariel Rechtshaid. Im off to trader joes and hopefully my favorite checker, ginger gordon will be there!

Yo! This blogging is really addicting. So, today I left my nanas, and saw my dad after two weeks! For lunch I went to this delicious chinese place and got the best egg rolls. Then I came home and saw my doggie! I thought I woould post a picture of the little buggie.
I love the greetings he gives me, It warms my wittle heart.
Its Friday! You know what that means.... Friday Night Lights! I <3333 Taylor Kitsch.
Back to reality, I went to target today and guess what I found... cheese balls! (Hence the posts title) Heres me with the magnificent snack
As some of you may know, I want to dye my hair pink. I had temporary pink streakes, but they washed out. I really liked them, so I want to get it done permentantly. I went to Ulta to see how much it would cost, so Im making progress to persuade my mom. Heres a picture of it done temporarily
Comment on what you think I should do. Im going to go watch Bethenny getting married?
